Help!

I’ve been trying to change the header on my blog but am clearly having problems. Where did those of you with nice customized blogs learn how to do that? I’ve fiddled with inserting URL’s into the html before, but I can’t even make that work now. I’d appreciate any advice!

  • De-lurking – If you want to customize the type/font element of your header, I am fairly certain you need to do it in PhotoShop or some other editing program, along with your photo. Love the new picture BTW!

  • I love the new picture in your header. It’s lovely. You can download free blog skins. I almost did that. But then I wasn’t sure if I would have to reformat some of my other stuff. I can’t remember the website…but I’m sure if you google it a variety of stuff will pop up. Good luck.

  • I saw the same question on another blog and someone offered these instructions. They worked well for me and were quite simple. Good luck!

Your image will have to be the width of of your template, the 3 columns Scribe are usually 850. I tried working with different lengths, 150 to 350 works OK.

Go to Customize then to Page Elements, then to the bottom of the page and click on add page element. Then to to add picture. Browse, find your picture on your computer and then open it. It will now appear in the window on the page you use to upload the image. Right click on the picture and to to properties. Highlight and copy the url that shows.

Close without saving the changes. No picture will be added.

    Go to your Edit HTML.

Scroll down past Defaults, where it says background. It will be the first URL image you see as part of the HTML.

BE SURE TO COPY THIS URL TO ADD BACK IF THIS DOESN’T WORK FOR YOU!!!!! AND PLEASE DON’T ASK ME TO HELP FIX IT. This is at your own risk!

Highlight the url image that is there, delete it and paste in the new one you copied. It should say just repeat; after it. There is a space between the ) and the word repeat. (If there is a y or x, delete it.)

Save the new template and you are good!
    Good Luck.

I would love to hear from you!
